Opens seasonally so check before you go. I was here the week of labor day so they were luckily still open. But they are about to close for the season. Stunning views of the Bay and at sunset, it's so serene. This was the perfect week to come vs the busy summer days. The place gets packed at prime dinner time (6pm-8pm) so head over earlier or come right at 7:30pm...that's the sweet time slot. Tables cannot be reserved and when it's super busy, a staff member will assist in securing a table once you've gotten your food. Sometimes you'll have to share a table, it's a courteous thing to do and when it's that busy, everyone just wants to enjoy their food with the view. Be nice! Onto the food: love the clam chowder - full of ingredients and it's the perfect balance of creamy but not too heavy. The lobster roll served with fries, the baked fish served over farro and the whole belly clams entrees are my go-to choices almost every visit. I like what I like and between the salad and slaw - you get your vegetables in. For the non-seafood options, there's the impossible burger, grilled cheese (so good!!), hot dog and cheeseburgers just to name a few. There are salad options too with or without proteins. Something for everyone. Always a great time at Butler's Flat. It's an institution. Enjoy!

Cute outdoor sot with outdoor seating only. Decent lobster roll wish they had a hot butter option and they ran out of clam chowder but we will return . Reasonable prices for what you're getting.

Fun spot for seafood on the water. We ordered the stuffed quahog (really good), lobster roll (fresh but only ok), fried flounder sandwich (good), green salad (big portion), and a clam chowder (thin, very creamy). Fries were very good. Beer selection features local options. Awesome venue, food is fresh but just ok. Will totally come back to try more things. Also dog and kid friendly!

Brought a group of 8 people and - it was stunning! There was only a bit of a crowd (Sunday - with a fair going on further Main St) but there was still some waiting to order and get seated - but not all that much. I'd say be a little mindful since the place at is peak can probably be a mad house - so when you're done chowing down - let those waiting for seating get their chance - as opposed to lingering around. Everyone basically got a lobster roll with an additional crab roll, spicy shrimp roll and burger. Everything came out quickly and the food was delicious. Lobster roll is super fresh - not too much mayo or celery and great ratio of lobster to bread as well. Fries are great. And sitting watching the water with a beer isn't bad either. It's kind of pricey (30$ per person it ended up being - but nearly everyone got a cab of beer) but I've been to a few "seafood shack" places by the water and sometimes the food their offering just isn't worth the price tag and they sometimes don't accommodate the tables either - is kind of like a waiting service but also not really lol - half a waiting service - but to me with the food being great and the managing of the tables - to me is worth the price. Definitely going back again for more lobster!

We had a great time here today! A real vacation feel right on the marina. We arrived at 2:30 on Sunday for a late lunch and had no problem getting a table and no wait to order. The lobster rolls, local corn on the cob, and ice cream sandwich were all fresh and delicious. I loved that the patio is shaded by umbrellas and dog friendly! Staff members were so friendly and bathroom was modern and clean (ask staff for the code).
